Harmunt's Hotel Haven

I'm utterly ashamed to have reached 35 posts into this blog without plugging the very hotel that put us up for the duration of our stay in New York! So let's hear it for The Hotel Metro. With it's exquisite Art Deco décor and convenient midtown location (Five minutes away from Times Square) we couldn't have asked for anything better. Food, service, facilities and shitter were all first class, but we especially loved the toasted bagels and philadelphia in the morning guys! Took this picture on the last night of our stay at about one in the morning.

We salute you! :)

12 Seconds In A Day

A great time-lapse video of Lower Manhattan from a Brooklyn rooftop apartment. Many thanks to illinkdotnet for creating such a unique view of New York City.

Watching this makes me thankful that the days we spent there didn't end this quickly :)

The Penn Is Mightier Than The Sore (Neck)

Penn plaza in all it's 750ft neck-aching splendour. Oh, and a US flag that managed to muscle it's way into the frame!

Strangely enough, whilst it's not the tallest, it was the only building in New York that made me go giddy when I looked up at it. In fact I made several attempts at taking this picture for that very reason!

Tune In...

During an evening walk around Madison Square garden, the world famous neon lights of the Radio City Music Hall drew us like moths. Before you could say boo to a goose, Mrs H had snapped this colourful picture.

Now here comes the science... as taken from the official website.

Regarded as one of the world's leaders in producing and marketing live entertainment, Radio City Entertainment has brought its expertise to stadiums, stages and city streets throughout the world. From the world-famous Radio City Christmas Spectacular to Super Bowl Half Time shows and Las Vegas spectaculars, from The NCAA Final Four, to the MTV Video Music Awards, Radio City Entertainment produces and hosts one-of-a-kind, signature entertainment.

Woah...

I'll Take Manhattan...

Discovered another stunning New York skyline, this time from photographer BigMac. Taken from the Staten Island ferry, this image of Lower Manhattan is hard to beat.

The detail is phenomenal and it really does exert a 'reach out and touch' quality. WARNING - This is a very BIG image. Dial up users - this means you!!! :)

Park Life

This is another shot from the Bryant Park collection. Quite simply a random hit on New York daily life. People just going about their business on a hot and humid Wednesday afternoon.

Whilst this picture may envoke the thought of me huddled in amongst the flowers like some stalker, I can assure you that I was, in fact, sat on a rather respectable park bench!
